The Centre for Academic, Professional and Organisational Development (CAPOD) was established in June 2011 and has a wide remit, encompassing all staff and students at the University of St Andrews.
We provide structured development programmes for cohorts of students and staff; facilitate networking events; design and deliver bespoke events; coordinate mentoring schemes; offer a coaching service; deliver IT training; award internal funding; run the evening degree programme; quality assure and enhance teaching, promote use of learning technology; provide a maths and academic skills support service for students, and much more besides.
We’re trying to get better at evaluating the impact of what we do, and this blog is one way to share some of the stories and examples of the difference we make. Here you’ll hopefully find our developers sharing case studies of their work, participants reflecting on their learning and behavioural change, and other members of our University community articulating how CAPOD counts. We hope this resultant series of snapshots allows you to better understand the scope and reach of CAPOD.
